| I know very well how what appears to the average joe like you and me as minor body work can still add up to a really high $ amount and total out a very fixable and perfectly driveable car with no major defects. With that being said, you are a bit naive if you dont think body work on over half of the front end of a $40k car can't reach $10k, this ain't a dodge stratus. For example... Your hood has a marking on it, assumably for a damaged area, if the edge is creased at all the ins company wants it replaced. hood plus paint plus labor, lets just hope the mounting hardware wasnt bent at all and needs to be replaced in order for the new one to line up right. And lets hope the hood didnt push into the other fender and damage the edge of it. Now throw in a damaged door, a damaged fascia and if any of these things took any sort of impact especially from another car, then they likely were pushed into and bent other items underneath that now need to be replaced. Judging by your wheel you have suspension damage too, Do you have any idea how much crap is directly connected to that wheel that can be affected by that type of an impact? If so, it all has to be replaced, which = $$$. Your entire front end is being replaced minus the passengerside fender and suspension/wheel, but plus the drivers door and you dont think it could reach $10k with labor? The stigma of a wreck and a salvage title is what it is regardless. So good luck with it, and keep your fingers crossed for a lucky break, but don't get your hopes too high, 96's aren't the most popular models before you even overcome the whole rebuilt title stigma. You asked what people thought, and people are telling you. Just sitting here and us telling you "yeah man that's bullshit, ask $25k" like you clearly want to hear isn't doing you any service at all.
Tsk tsk, some people just don't know when to stfu search said you suck (n/m) - Wilks. 01:38:02 09/06/06 |
